How to Reach Yala National Park
By Road
The most common route is via the Southern Expressway (E01) from Colombo, exiting at Hambantota. From there, well-marked roads lead directly to Tissamaharama and Yala.
By Train
Take a train to Matara or Hambantota (when available) and continue by taxi or bus to Yala.
By Air (Domestic)
Cinnamon Air offers flights to Hambantota / Weerawila airports, followed by a short drive to Yala.

Best Time to Visit
The ideal time is February to July, when water levels are low and wildlife is easier to spot.
Yala remains open most of the year but Section 1 may close in September for annual maintenance and wildlife protection.
